Dr Damian Allen
It is with deep regret that we write to inform you of the recent death of Dr Damian Allen on 5th July. As you can imagine, this has been a difficult time for his family, friends and the staff here at the practice but we are all pulling together to support one another.
We want to ensure that all of his patients, both new and old, continue to receive the same standard of support and care during this period – bearing in mind the restrictions that Covid-19 has imposed.
The surgery is reopening on an incremental basis, and we are pleased to say we will be welcoming our first patients back Monday 1st August.
We will be in touch with you again to book your routine appointments but if you have any queries, please contact the surgery on 01706 215627.

After completing a degree in Chemistry from the University of London in 1982 Damian followed his initial career choice and studied dentistry at the University of Sheffield and qualified in 1986 receiving the prize medal for restorative dentistry (fillings, crowns, bridges etc). Damian spent 3 years working as an associate dentist in various practices before buying D.B. Allen dental surgery in 1989.
The practice had been under the control of Mr Hamer for a 30 year period prior to this and Damian is now in his 26th year at the helm, leading to a high level of consistency and quality of care.
It has been a labour of love with constant upgrading and improving of the fabric of the building and dentistry provided therein.
It has always been a priority to keep the practice at the cutting edge of modern techniques whilst maintaining a pleasant family friendly atmosphere.
In 1997 Damian studied "Advanced Restorative Techniques" and "Implant Dentistry" in Manchester, and today in collaboration with Richard Brookshaw – a world renowned dental implant surgeon we are capable of restoring most of the most challenging restorative cases in house.
It is the hope that the practice will continue to go from strength to strength in the future with the patients interest always at the forefront of every decision made.
